Now, Ubisoft has announced that as part of the season pass for Watch Dogs: Legion, a character who is part of the Assassin Order will be a playable character. ![]() At the time, it seemed like an Easter egg and nothing more. Ubisoft first teased a connection between Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin’s Creed when a screen shot of various recruitable NPCs in Watch Dogs: Legion revealed one NPC was a “Descendant of Jacob Frye.” Jacob Frye was one of the lead characters of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, a game which was set in nineteenth century London (Watch Dogs: Legion is set in a near future London). Most recently, the Templar Order has taken the shape of tech company Abstergo. This information is almost always in service of furthering the war between the Assassins and the Templar Order, a war that has existed for thousands of years. In most of the Assassin Creed games, the characters in the modern day section are often using a device known as an Animus to tap into memories of their ancestors in order to locate information that has been lost to time. While the Assassin’s Creed games are largely set in the past, with settings ranging from Ancient Greece to the French Revolution, they have always been connected by a modern day storyline. As part of the game’s season pass, players will eventually have access to a character who is a member of the Assassin Order, unequivocally connecting the Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed franchises. #DARCY WATCH DOGS LEGION UPDATE#Ubisoft might be on its way to creating an interconnected games universe with an update coming to Watch Dogs: Legion later this year.
